Why is Cabarete known as the Watersports Capital of the World?
Welcome to Cabarete, the Watersports Capital of the Word!
There are valid reasons why Cabarete has become very popular and considered by many the best place to visit and live in the Caribbean.
Everything from surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wing foiling, scuba diving, and stand-up paddleboarding can be practiced in Cabarete Bay.
The combination of flat water, excellent wave riding, and exciting downwinders are what make Cabarete one of the best destinations in the Caribbean.
Cabarete is a typical Caribbean paradise with its long beaches and warm seas. If you have the chance to come down to the Dominican Republic you will encounter not only amazing weather conditions but the chance to practice both land and water sports.
Get the most out of the sunshine, wind, and waves – experience Cabarete, North Coast of the Dominican Republic!
If you have any questions before getting into the sport or about classes, equipment rental, or anything else, get in touch with a local expert. What are you waiting for?
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PRACTICE YOUR FAVORITE WATER SPORT?
The best wind conditions are between January to March, and June through to September.
There is an offshore reef that is about 600 meters off the beach. You can take lessons at any time of the year. With over 300 days of wind and waves, Cabarete is an ideal destination to visit at any time.
Do you need a wetsuit to practice your favorite water sport? Not really, but it’s up to you!
The water temperature is above 18 Celsius all year round, which means you can wear bikinis and board shorts every day. Summertime on the North Coast is the best for beginners and for all of you interested in taking lessons in your favorite water sport.
The wave season, more advanced riders’ favorite, starts rising by September – October all the way to the beginning of April. The wave season is also great for kiteboarders who love wave riding.
